From NURSE to HACKER

Steve sat down with Edgar Bustos who has been a penetration tester at Secure Network for the past three years. Now Bustos moved to Auburn, NY when he was fourteen years old. He did not know any English but started high school a month later anyways. After graduation he got his Associates Degree in Humanities and Social Sciences and he became a licensed nurse. Bustos loves to help people and greatly enjoyed being a nurse.

When Bustos was young he wanted to be a hacker when he grew up and even though being a nurse was great he decided to try hacking. Now Bustos luckily had a mutual acquaintance who introduced him to James from Secure Network. James helped Bustos study for his OSCP test which is where he had to hack four devices within 24 hours. Bustos finally passed the test after two failed attempts.

Bustos had mentors helping him studying, online resources and no formal education in hacking. Yet, he passed his OSCE test as well and has been working with Secure Network for the past three years. Bustos said that it is definitely a tough field to break into but if you set your mind to it. Just jump in, put the hours in and learn what you have too.
